Pick a picture
Choose a picture and piece count. You can stop and resume on this browser.
Tab moves through the pieces still to place. Arrow keys move the piece in focus, and Shift with an arrow key moves it further. Enter or Space drops it. At 12 and 24 pieces, P turns the faint picture on and off. Escape or End ends the round.

How this data is usedHelp
Your progress is kept on this browser for each picture and piece count, so you can close the tab and come back. Start a new round clears it. A finished puzzle saves one round.
Press on a piece to pick it up, drag it where you want it, and let go. A piece that lands close to its place clicks in and stays there. A piece that lands anywhere else stays where you dropped it.
Pick 12 or 24 pieces on a phone. At those counts every piece is wide enough to drag with a finger; a picture that would cut too small at 24 offers 12 instead. 48 and 96 pieces are better on a tablet or a desktop.
Pinch or use the wheel to zoom in, up to three times. Drag with two fingers, or hold Space and drag, to move the view.
Pieces do not turn in this version. Each one only needs to be moved. Turning may be added later as a harder setting.
The time is how long the puzzle took you. It says nothing about your intelligence.
The statistics page lists your times among rounds at the same piece count. A 96 piece round and a 12 piece round are not the same task.
The pictures are public domain works from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and from NASA. Each one carries its title, its artist, its year and its source.
