Ratios & averages

Use equal parts and totals to find the exact answer.

Four ratio questions and four average questions

Scale ratios and find missing values

Eight questions. No time limit.

Follow the parts and totals

Read which amount is known and which is missing. Ratios keep the same order; group averages depend on how many values each group contains.

Ratio 2:3, total 20. There are 5 equal parts, so the first amount is 8.

How to play

Choose one of four answers. The answer locks when selected. Read the method, then choose Next question.

In a ratio, each part has the same value. For an average, recover the total first. When groups have different sizes, weight each mean by its count.

Choose an exact answer. A fraction is a value, not a request to round. In each ratio A:B, A always refers to the first amount.

Finish all eight questions to save a result in this browser. An unfinished round is not saved. Active time includes answers and review, but not background tabs. There is no time limit or speed bonus.

Use Tab and Enter or Space to choose an answer. Keys 1–4 also select answers, except when another control is focused.
