84 − (−37) =
Subtracting a negative number adds it. The answer is 121.
A warm-up. The clock runs 4 minutes and stops after 40 questions. On standard numbers, addition and subtraction stay under 200.
The numbers this practice has always used. The format above sets how big they get.

Read the question and type the answer. Press Enter to check it and go straight to the next question. There is no pause in between.
Trading firms are reported to take a point off for a wrong answer. A wrong guess scores worse than a skip.
This is not any firm's test. No firm is involved, and no firm sees your result. It is arithmetic practice, not a measure of ability, and it does not predict how an interview will go.
The formats differ in how long the clock runs and how many questions there are. Each one says what it changes when you pick it.
There are ten kinds of question: the four operations, percent of an amount, fractions and decimals, powers of two, expected value, rough division and percent twice. The four operations are on to start with.
Turn a kind on or off before you start. A round draws evenly from the kinds that are on, and it will not start with none on. The kinds you choose are part of the settings your statistics compare, so a mixed round is never compared with an operations round.
Standard serves the four operations exactly as this practice always has, so an old score and a standard score now are the same test. The six other kinds are new. Hard widens every range at every format.
A basis point is one hundredth of one percent. So 25 basis points is 0.25 percent, and 25 bps of 4000 is 10. Desks say bps because it is shorter than saying the decimal.
The clock runs while the page is in front of you. It stops when you switch tabs or minimize the window, so time on another tab is not counted.
S skips the question. Escape ends the round. End does the same when you are not typing in the answer box.
