The rule

Match the verb to the time. Use the simple past for finished actions ("yesterday I walked"), and the present perfect (have/has + past participle) for a past action that still matters now.

Wrong and right

  1. Wrong I have went there.

    Right I have gone there.

  2. Wrong Yesterday I go to work.

    Right Yesterday I went to work.

  3. Wrong She has visit Paris last year.

    Right She visited Paris last year.

  4. Wrong I am knowing the answer.

    Right I know the answer.

  5. Wrong We will meet after he will arrive.

    Right We will meet after he arrives.

  6. Wrong They didn't went to the meeting.

    Right They didn't go to the meeting.
