Find the details in a painting

Read a name on the list, find that detail in the painting and tap it.

Help

Each round is one painting from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, from its Open Access collection that anyone may use. Read a name on the list, find that detail in the painting and tap it.

A found detail gets a ring and a check mark, in the painting and on the list. A tap on a spot with nothing from the list just shows Not here, and nothing counts against you. If a detail appears more than once, any one of them counts.

Hint marks the area to look in first. Ask again and a dashed ring shows the detail; tap it to mark it. Tap a name on the list to choose which detail the hint is for.

Magnifier makes the part of the painting you tap next larger. Tap a detail there, or choose Back to the whole painting.

With pictures lists five large details, each with a small picture of it. Words only lists eight details by name. Small details lists six small ones, and on some paintings asks how many of something you can see.

Today's painting changes at midnight where you are. Another painting moves on to the next one.

Print makes a large print copy of the painting with its list, and the answers on a second page.

There is no time limit. The result counts the details found and the hints used, and sets the round beside your own last round at this level.

The paintings are here for looking and enjoyment. A result says how this round went, not what you know.

Tab moves to the painting. The arrow keys move the ring, Shift with an arrow moves it further, and Enter or Space looks there. Escape goes back to the whole painting, then ends the round.
