Each box holds one hidden rule and always applies it. A rule either moves the symbols around or steps one symbol along its row. On Easy and Standard, find an example that goes through one box on its own and write that rule down as an action. On Challenge no example does, so read the examples together. Then follow the arrows. Every example and the question also carry a written description, so you can read them instead of looking at them.
Select one of four answers, then choose Check. You can change your selection before checking. Read the explanation and continue when ready. Keyboard: Tab to the answers and use the arrow keys to change your choice.
Easy has two boxes and one example each, and the question goes through one box. Standard has three boxes and one example each, and the question goes through two boxes in a row. Challenge has three boxes, and every example goes through two of them, so the rules have to be separated before the question can be worked.
Solving time excludes setup, explanations and background tabs. The optional challenge gives you two minutes of solving time across six questions. When time runs out, unanswered questions count as incorrect. Timed and untimed results stay separate.
The browser loads a complete six-question round from the server when you start or restart. Completed rounds and timed-out challenges are saved when browser storage is available; ending early is not saved. Your individual answers are not uploaded.
A score here says how many of these six questions you answered correctly. It does not measure intelligence and it is not an IQ test or a selection test. Every round uses different questions, so scores move around.
Keyboard: press an answer's letter or number to choose it, Enter to check, and Enter again to continue.
