Read confidence as coverage

Understand what confidence intervals cover, what more data changes and what bias leaves behind.

A fixed mean, moving intervals

A confidence interval is made from a random sample. Repeat the sampling method and the intervals change, while the population mean stays fixed. Coverage is the share of intervals that contain that mean across repetitions. A particular calculated interval either contains the fixed mean or does not.
