About these challenges
Work through the clues at your own pace. A hint is available for each question, and you can review every answer at the end.
Which figure completes the bottom row?
In each row, the first two figures make the third. A reflection can happen before they combine.
Show how it works
Follow the spokes
First reflect the spokes in the first figure left to right. Keep positions present in exactly one of the first two figures. Shared positions disappear.
Check the second row
The same reflection and combination also produce the second completed row. Use that rule again, rather than copying the number of spokes.
Complete the bottom row
Apply the reflection first, then the combination. All choices contain the same number of spokes, so their positions decide the answer.
Which figure completes the bottom row?
In each row, the first two figures make the third. Spokes and dots can follow different rules.

Follow the spokes
Keep positions present in exactly one of the first two figures. Shared positions disappear.
Solve the dots separately
Keep only positions that are present in both figures.
Complete the bottom row
Apply each rule to its own layer, then place the resulting spokes and dots in one figure. Both layers are needed to distinguish the choices.

Follow the spokes
First reflect the spokes in the first figure left to right. Keep positions present in exactly one of the first two figures. Shared positions disappear.
Solve the dots separately
First reflect the dots in the first figure top to bottom. Keep only positions that are present in both figures.

Apply each rule to its own layer, then place the resulting spokes and dots in one figure. Both layers are needed to distinguish the choices.
Missing pattern: two linked cells
Build two missing tiles that satisfy both row and column rules.

Compare the number, shape, fill and direction of the symbols. Start with one feature, then check whether its rule works across the rows, down the columns, or both. Harder questions combine more than one rule.
Select one of six answers, then choose Check. You can change your selection before checking. Read the explanation and continue when ready. Keyboard: Tab to the answers and use the arrow keys to change your choice.
Solving time excludes setup, explanations and background tabs. The optional challenge gives you two minutes of solving time across six questions. When time runs out, unanswered questions count as incorrect. Timed and untimed results stay separate.
The browser loads a complete six-question round from the server when you start or restart. Completed rounds and timed-out challenges are saved when browser storage is available; ending early is not saved. Your individual answers are not uploaded.
