Two jobs, one at a time
First decide whether the equation is Right or Wrong. It then disappears and a letter takes its place. Remember that letter while you judge the next equation.
Each equation has a time limit. If it expires, the equation counts as missed and the letter still appears. Keep following the letters. At the end, type the letters in order, not the answers to the sums.
Let the sum go; keep its letter
4 + 5 = 9 is right; then B appears. 3 × 4 = 14 is wrong because 3 × 4 = 12; then K appears. 8 + 2 = 10 is right; then R appears.
The letters to type are BKR. Do not add 9, 12 or 10 to your remembered list. Your letter recall and your equation judgments are reported separately, so both jobs matter.
Letters do not repeat within a round. Keep their order instead of rearranging them into a word.
Keep the letters in arrival order
Here is a new three-step timeline. Judge each equation, then follow the letter that appears after it. Which letters would you type at the end?
Try it
After these three steps, which letters do you type?
- TMF
- MTF

TMF
Yes. The letters arrived T, M, F. The equations are right, wrong, right: 4 × 2 = 8, 7 + 2 = 9 (not 10), and 3 × 3 = 9.
