Use the rule for every item
In a sustained-attention round, digits inside shapes appear one at a time for two minutes. The rule stays visible. At the first setting, press Space or tap the response button whenever the digit is 7.
Let the other items pass. Make one response while a target is still visible, then keep watching. The picture below is a static teaching example; the practice presents a moving stream of separate items.
Each item independently has a small chance of being a target. Targets can be close together or separated by a long gap. Counting earlier targets cannot tell you that the next item will be safe to ignore.
Check every part of a more detailed rule
Another setting asks for 7 inside a circle. A circle containing 7 matches both parts of that rule. A square containing 7 shares the digit, but does not match the required shape.
The eight settings combine four rules with a steady or brisk pace. Later rules ask for two digit–shape combinations or for even and odd digits in particular shapes. Check the displayed rule before starting.
Keep the page open and in focus for the full stream. Leaving it or an interrupted presentation ends the attempt without a saved result, so you can restart with a fresh round.
Decide whether the whole rule matches
The rule is still 7 inside a circle. The current item is 7 inside a square. Should you respond, or let it pass?
A response to a matching item is a hit. A target that passes without a response is a miss. Responding to another item is a false alarm. The result reports these separately.
Response time uses caught targets only. The first and second minute can contain different target counts, including no targets in a minute. Read the counts shown for each half; there is no fixed quota to expect.
Try it
The rule is 7 inside a circle. A square contains 7. What should you do?
- Press the response button.
- Let the item pass.
Show the answer
Let the item pass.
Correct. The whole rule requires both 7 and a circle. The square containing 7 can pass while you keep watching the stream.
