A false alarm is a response to an item that was not a target. Response time uses caught targets only. Each minute can contain a different number of targets.
This attempt was not saved. Restart when you can keep this page open and in focus for two minutes.
Optional and off by default. Share starts, completions, replays and error categories. For visits from ChatGPT, starts and completions can also include the first QuickenBrain page and broad country. No answers, drawings or names.
How this data is usedHow this practice works
A digit inside a shape appears, followed by a short blank. Keep watching for two minutes. Press Space or tap the response button only when the visible item matches the rule. Holding a key down does not produce more responses.
Targets occur independently, so their number and spacing vary. The first and second minute are reported separately, using the targets that actually appeared. If a minute has no targets, it has no target response time.
Levels 1–2 use a single digit; 3–4 combine a digit and shape; 5–6 have two target combinations; 7–8 use even and odd digits. Each pair has a steady and brisk pace. These are different task demands, and their difficulty order has not been calibrated with people.
Leaving the page, losing focus, or an interrupted stream ends the attempt without a saved result. Start a fresh round when you are ready. This is attention practice, not a diagnostic assessment.
