Track a strip through several turns

Follow three known stickers through a scrambled cube, updating their position and order after each turn.

Choose a strip you can follow

A scrambled cube does not have solid-color faces. Start from the stickers actually shown. Here the front face’s right column is blue, blue, orange from top to bottom. Thick outlines mark those three stickers; B means blue and O means orange.

Keep the cube facing the same way. Read R U F R′ from left to right. A plain letter means clockwise as you look straight at that face; the prime mark means counter-clockwise. The first move, R, carries the tracked front column onto the top face’s right column. It now reads blue, blue, orange from back to front.

After each move, ask where the strip went and which way its order now runs. Follow known stickers even if nearby stickers came from a hidden face.
