Help

A key pairs each symbol with a letter. The key stays on screen for the whole round.

In Check mode a row of symbols appears with a row of letters under it. Answer Same when every letter matches the key. Answer Different when one does not. A different row has exactly one wrong letter.

In Count mode one symbol appears above a line of 24 symbols. Type how many times it is in the line and press Enter. The true count is shown after each answer. There are 12 lines with no time limit.

Level 1 is four symbols a row and six in the key. Level 2 is five a row and eight in the key. Level 3 is six a row and eight in the key, with two pairs that look alike.

Check mode runs for 90 seconds. The clock only counts time this tab is in front. When it runs out the round is complete and is saved. A round you end yourself is not saved. Neither is a round with no answers.

The score is right answers less wrong ones. Items a minute is how many you answered divided by the time it took. Speed only means something when the answers are right, so read both numbers together.

Press S for Same and D for Different, or 1 and 2. In Count mode type the number and press Enter. Press Escape or End to stop a round.

Korean and Japanese aptitude tests use this format, where it is called 지각속도 or 知覚速度. This page drills the format. It is not any exam and is not connected to one.

This is a practice activity, not a standardized or diagnostic assessment. The result describes this round and nothing else. It does not measure intelligence or attention.

Rounds are compared with other rounds at the same mode and level. Nothing else is compared.
